Trip to ISRO - (21 to 24 January 2020)

76 Students from Classes VI to XII alongwith Principal Ms. A. Aggarwal and teachers Ms. N. V. Punj, Ms. S. Arora, Ms. P. Minocha, Ms. A. Sapra and Mr. S. Pruthi got an opportunity to visit Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This educational trip was from 21 to 24 January, 2020.

The students visited Marina Beach, Chennai and then ISRO where they were taken to the launch pads and station controlling the launch. Standing at the launch pad was an overwhelming experience for the students which cannot be expressed. Later the students also visited Mahabalipurum and Crocodile Farms, Paradise Beach and Pudducherry.

An activity was conducted by Mother Dairy for the students of Classes III and IV. It gave the children an insight about a healthy diet. A short play was also staged to show the benefit of a healthy diet. Children were told to include green vegetables and healthy food in their diet. Children were also given Mother Dairy Cheese and a tiffin box. Children loved the enactment and were so enthusiastic about this activity.

HUMANS VS SUPERBUGS : OUR EFFORTS WILL MAKE US WIN

More than 170 students of Classes VIII and IX of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh visited ‘A Travelling Exhibition’ – SuperbugsThe End of Antibiotics? organized by National Council of Science Museums, India and The Science Museum in London from 10 to 15 October, 2019. The exhibition was laced with real stories of doctors, nurses, scientists and audio track of Alexander Fleming, supported by digital interactions and immersive displays. The exhibition was aimed at educating and sensitizing the youth about issue of antibiotic resistance. Puppet shows, science cross-talks and interaction with researchers helped the students to understand the global crisis and gave them an opportunity to join hands to create awareness about the issue. The students got tips on how they can contribute towards this war against the superbugs.
Educational Camp Chail - (15 to 18 May 2019)

An adventure camp was organised by St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh at Chail, Himachal Pradesh, in the lap of nature from 15 to 18 May, 2019 for the students of Classes VI to VIII. After a brief orientation and tent allotment, the students were divided into two groups. The students indulged in a gamut of activities like catapult making, zip line, Samba, Rappelling etc. with zest and enthusiasm. A long trek to the roof top of a mountain set the adrenaline of the young students rushing, where they honed their culinary skills by cooking Maggi and tea for the entire group. Students also recorded their experience in a journal. They thoroughly enjoyed the trip and returned to the school with wonderful memories and a rejuvenated spirit. Overall, it was an outing that made the students confident, courageous and to a great extent assisted them to conquer their fears.
