Music can definitely buoy your soul and lift your spirits. Apart from entertainment, it can be used as a way to express emotions as well as a tool to transform your mood.

To bring the joy of music in our lives, our school organised a funfilled 'Virtual Antakshari' Competition for Class IX. Students, along with their parents participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. The objective of this event was to provide an opportunity to the students to connect and participate with their classmates and it gave a wonderful platform to the parents to have some fun filled time with their children. The event was online and the theme of the competition was ‘Bollywood’. The competition received an overwhelming response from the students and parents in terms of participation. The game was played in teams of two and the competition had a total of six rounds namely, Geet Gata Chal, Mood Pe Music, Prop Round, Jodi No.1, Phata Poster Nikla Hero and Hint round.

This unique way of playing Antakshari through the virtual platform left everyone awestruck and gave all participants a joy ride.

It was our privilege to conclude the event with some heartwarming words by our Principal ma'am, Ms. Sheena Kalenga. She congratulated the winners, appreciated the efforts made by all the participants and encouraged everyone to always keep a positive attitude.

Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life.”

In 1982 the Dance Committee of ITI founded International Dance Day to be celebrated every year on the 29th April, the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), creator of modern ballet.

SMGS celebrated this day by giving platform to the students of Class VII-C and VII-D to perform Gujarati or Punjabi folk dance on the virtual stage provided by the Miscrosoft Team. This exclusive activity was planned for 29 April 2021 and the students were given prior notification to prepare in full swing for Punjabi or Gujarati folk dance.

Beautifully clad in Punjabi and Gujarati outfit, the students of Class VII gave a brilliant and overwhelming performance during the activity period.

It is rightly put by Vicki Baum, “There are shortcuts to happiness and dancing is one of them.” The activity undoubtedly rejuvenated the students and proved to be salubrious for young minds.
