| In this age there are too many events in the sporting arena happening around the world in order to keep abreast with all these events one has to be in constant touch which is not always possible for students along with course curriculum. Conducting a sports quiz is an alternative. A sports quiz was organized on 25th July 2012 for classes XI and XII. Four teams – Gandhi, Nehru, Patel and Shastri competed against each other. Gandhi House comprising of Abhishek Kohli, Anurag Watts, Siddharth Bansal and Sanya Sharma bagged the first position. Nehru House got the second position. The trophies along with encouraging words of appreciation were handed by the Vice principal, Mrs. Alka Kher. |

The Slow Cycle Race one of its kind was hosted on 15 May 2009 in association with 'The Times of India - Times NIE'. The cycle race was not a usual one, but was all about being slow, patient and maintaining the balance. The slowest cyclist among all participants was to be the winner. Around 18 schools from West Delhi participated in the event with full zest.
The event saw the presence of School Chairman Mr. T. P. Aggarwal, Director Ms. Anjali Aggarwal and Mr. Rahul Aggarwal. The School Chairman said, "I think having a cycle race in this gadget age where you don't see any child riding it having a slow cycle race is very challenging." |
|
|
According to School Principal, Ms. Rama Sethi, "Unlike a normal cycle race this is more challenging and enjoyable, as here a child needs to maintain his/her balance as well as have patience".
The event was judged by eminent judges and was enjoyed by all present. Sanchit Mittal of the host school was the Winner in Boys category, while Jaspreet Kaur of GHPS, Tilak Nagar was the Winner in Girls category. Mr. Aggarwal and the School Principal presented Bicycles sponsored by BSA Cycles to the Winners. |
