In the days when Janak Puri was taking shape and very few facilities were available, farsighted, Mr. T. P. AGGARWAL visualised the need of an educational institution in this area. It was in January, 1975 that a modest beginning was made and with good administration and healthy staff the school grew at a rapid pace. The expansion in the enrolment of the students, enlargement of the school building and upgradation from Secondary to Senior Secondary was very satisfying. Today, it has nearly 3000 students on the roll with nearly 150 staff members.

As part of an initiative by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd., the activity ‘One Nation Reading Together’ was carried out in our school 30 November 2012. The students along with their teachers as well as the administrative staff were all seen reading at the same time.

The endeavour was to encourage and inculcate the habit of reading in everyone.

A graffiti pin up board was put up and a number of students and teachers penned down their thoughts and quotations about the importance of books and reading in our lives.

Under the aegis of scholastic India pvt. Ltd. (a leading publication house),”one Nation Reading Together”, an activity to encourage and popularize reading among students was held on 25^th November for the entire school.

Moreover to add to the whole feel of reading a ‘Book Mark’ making activity was also conducted in which the students creative juices flowed as they made many attractive book marks.

On 26^th November 2010 the whole school participated in the activity “One Nation Reads Together” under the ages of Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd on the occasion of its 90^th Anniversary.

For an hour the entire school devoted some time for reading, thus emphasizing upon the necessity of reading in today’s world where gadgets have overtaken our simple pleasure of reading.
