Mount Abu Public School, Rohini organised a TEDx Event on 12 February 2021, which the students from our school - Aishwarya Nagdev (XI-A), Yuvraj Singh (XI-A), Aanya Babuta (XI-D), Saanvi Sama (XI-D), Sannidhi Arora (XI-F) and Bhavya Srihari (XI-F) attended.

The students got to hear eloquent views coming directly from the experts of diverse fields. Starting from Mr. Neelkantha Bhanu Prakash, the world's fastest human calculator to Ms. Neha Lakhani, a renowned chef who seeks happiness in the celebration of others; from Ms. Arushi Nishank, an environmentalist to Mr. Anurag Tripathi, the honourable Secretary of CBSE and from Mr. Viveck Vaswani, a renowned film producer to Captain Zoya Agarwal, the world's first woman to fly a Boeing, the exposure, perhaps, is inexpressible in words.

Meeting such speakers, the words of whom had the power to inspire; the power to convince and the power to change the world, was no less than a fortune discovered. The speakers reiterated the power of dreams by reinforcing how even the most apparently impossible dream can be transformed into a reality, if worked upon assiduously.

It was indisputably an unforgettable experience for the students who are now going to carry the learnings elicited from this talk in the very core of their hearts for life in entirety. After all, wider the exposure, greater the success!

COVID-19 hit the world in early 2020 and this fluid and unprecedented situation pushed the whole world into limbo. Everything got impacted and it changed the way we lived, interacted, worked, taught and learned. The implications and effects of the pandemic on our education system are yet to be ascertained, but it has surely changed and challenged educators and learners to adapt and grow in this fragile situation.

Our Director Ms. Anjali Aggarwal delivered a talk in the webinar series ‘MEET THE SCHOOLS THAT SHINE’ organized by Shri. Aurobindo Society and Health Champs, on the impact of COVID-19 on our education methods and challenges faced by teachers, students, parents, and the education system as a whole. She opened her talk by focusing on the nature of technology and put it very beautifully as “Technology should be exploited as it is an excellent slave but a very dangerous master.”

She appreciated the efforts of the teachers by addressing them as ‘FRONT LINE WARRIORS’ who conducted the online sessions in a confident manner. She discussed the changes that online education methods have brought around in the attitude of students and parents. She very rightly said that due to this online education system, parents are more participative in the process as they are also mostly working from home. They are able to keep an eye on the classes, exams and other activities like competitions, festival celebrations that are being conducted by the school. She touched upon very important issues like the financial impact of this pandemic on parents, emotional and personal void among students and teachers likewise, due to the lockdown.

It was a very insightful session with quite a few takeaways for all of us!
