ST. MARK'S SENIOR SECONDARY PUBLIC SCHOOL JANAK PURI, NEW DELHI - 58 In the days when Janak Puri was taking shape and very few facilities were available, farsighted, Mr. T. P. AGGARWAL visualised the need of an educational institution in this area. It was in January, 1975 that a modest beginning was made and with good administration and healthy staff the school grew at a rapid pace. The expansion in the enrolment of the students, enlargement of the school building and upgradation from Secondary to Senior Secondary was very satisfying. Today, it has nearly 3000 students on the roll with nearly 150 staff members.

Geo fest In the contemporary World of Globalization Geo Fest is a platform to groom students to enable them to compete in the International Arena. It aims to develop interest of students in environmental studies and problem of global warming, deforestation, soil erosion, green house effect and save the earth from man made catastrophes and also inspire students to study Geography. In this regard SMS Janakpuri has been actively associated with this fest bringing out laurels to the school.   A team of 6 students along with the teacher in charge Mr. Avinash Pandey went to the Geofest International at city Montessori school Lucknow and won overall Seniors Championship. The students and their individual achievements were as following : 1. Tanya Gambhir won II Prize in the event ‘GEO TALK’ on the topic “Laws related to the Environment should be fixed for all nations“. 2. Rishi Suri and Sonali Jain won the II Prize in the event ‘MODEL DISPLAY’ on the topic - “Urbanization and changing Landforms”. The Junior category comprised of the following : 1. Harshit Jain (IX) 2. Preet Singh (IX) 3. Kamya Ahlawat (IX) A team of six participants along with team leader Mr. Avinash Pandey participated in Geofest 2011 at Lucknow from 9th - 13th September 2011. Students participated in various activities such as Quiz, Collage, Geotalk and Choreography. Tanya Gambhir of class XI C bagged III prize in Geotalk in Senior category. TEAM MEMBERS SENIORS - TANYA GAMBHIR (XI C) VINAYAK GOYAL (XI C) ANANT SINGH (X I B) JUNIORS - HARSHIT JAIN (VIIIF) ADITI SHARMA (VIII B) MAHIMA LUTHRA (IX B) CONGRATULATIONS !! Junior team for bagging the JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. Winning first prize in Voice And Vision Event based on the theme “Nature-Kaleidoscope Divine Beauty”. Himani & Aiswarya for getting consolation prize in Collage Making based on the theme “Nature in Danger, Man the Preserver”. The team comprised of - JUNIORS SENIORS AISHWARYA IX F ARZOO SACHDEVA XI SAARTHAK IX F AYUSH SHARMA XI HIMANI IX D SANJANA RAMAN XI Teacher In Charge : Mr. Avinash Pandey   A team of 6 students along with teacher in charge Mr. Avinash Pandey participated in the event. Won 3rd Prize in Geo Tech – by Jatin & Navneet of XII B. The team comprised of - JUNIORS SENIORS NISHTHA DAS IX E JATIN KUMAR XII B VANI BAJAJ IX E NITIN GUPTA XII B SONALI JAIN IX E NAVNEET AHLAWAT XII Teacher In Charge : Mr. Avinash Pandey   Eight students and Teacher In Charge Mr. Avinash Pandey participated in all the activities of Geofest - 2008. Jatin Kumar of XI B and Nitin Gupta of XI E bagged the First Prize in Model Making and also got the third prize. Senior team became successful in trapping the First Runners Up trophy. Our Team also received the Most Cooperative Team Trophy.
