In the days when Janak Puri was taking shape and very few facilities were available, farsighted, Mr. T. P. AGGARWAL visualised the need of an educational institution in this area. It was in January, 1975 that a modest beginning was made and with good administration and healthy staff the school grew at a rapid pace. The expansion in the enrolment of the students, enlargement of the school building and upgradation from Secondary to Senior Secondary was very satisfying. Today, it has nearly 3000 students on the roll with nearly 150 staff members.

Vice Principal - Mrs. Alka Kher (St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Janak Puri, Delhi)

Mrs. Alka Kher joined this organization in 1983. In the year 1990 she became Incharge of Junior Section. Her hard work and excellent performance paid and she was promoted as Head Mistress of the Primary Section in the year 1996.

As a Head Mistress through her qualities of head and heart, persuasive power, innovations and educational concepts encouraged the teachers towards excellence.

In the year 2007 she was promoted as Vice Principal. Hardworking and maturing into a real educationist she is contributing her best in the growth of the school.

She has won a number of awards recognizing her contribution in the field of education and allied activities :

»»	In the year 2004 “DR. S. RADHAKRISHAN SMRITI RASHTRIYA SHIKSHAK SAMMAN” presented by the Hon’ble Minister of Education, NCT Delhi.
»»	In the year 2006 Award by “GLOBALISATION SUMMIT FOR RESPONSIVE AND INTERACTIVE EDUCATION”.
»»	In the year 2007 she was presented “Herbal Educational and Development Award” by HARBS (Herbs Antique Research Botanical Society).
»»	In the year 2008 “ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCTION DIDACTICS (DEED) AWARD” presented by Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment.
»»	She was honoured by old students of 1992 batch with plaque of honour – A Real emotional Recognition.
