Annual Edition of SMS XPress released - (14 March 2014)
The annual edition of SMS XPress was released on the 14th of March 2014. This year's edition focusses on 'Communal Harmony' a topic which is taken up very seriously by the school. The newspaper is an endeavour by the students of Students' Media Society of our school. SMS XPress is designed and printed by the students themselves; the printing cost is recovered by getting advertisers to advertise their products.

Media Workshop - (23 to 25 October 2013)
As a part of Project Search two Eco club students of class VIII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, attended three day media workshop organized by TERI in association with Tetra Pak India Pvt. Ltd. termed as "BIN THERE, DONE THAT" from 23 to 25 October, 2013 at Teri, Habitat centre.

The main objective of the workshop was to build media literacy and active citizenship amongst the school students. There were various sessions on media communication to enhance media skills and awareness so that students can use media as an effective tool to act as active citizen.

The students made videos in groups talking about the benefits of the workshop and got a chance to communicate with Mr. Parikshit Luthra from CNN-IBN, New Delhi.

Overall it was an attempt to enhance the reading, writing skills, critical analysis and research Skills so that interested students can choose media and journalism as their career.
SMS Express - January 2013

SMS Sr., Meerabagh - SMS Express January 2013 : Click to EnlargeOn January 21, 2013, Students’Media Society, the media club of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh released the first edition of SMS Xpress. The Special Guest of Honour present for the release was Dr. Anubhuti Yadav, Professor, C.I.E.T, N.C.E.R.T.

The event saw the members of the Students’ Media Society sharing their experiences in not only making the newspaper but also the other activities that they undertook throughout the session.

Dr. Anubhuti Yadav complimented the school and the students for their hard-work and sincere efforts put into the making of the newspaper. She also gave some valuable tips to the students for further activities to be done by the Society.

The newspaper was the result of the hard work put in by the sixteen members who comprise the Students’ Media Society. The students got a firsthand experience in all aspects of making a newspaper. Designing the newspaper, interviewing people, making illustrations each aspect was done by the students themselves. The students also raised money through advertisers to cover the printing costs of the newspaper.

The students who comprise the Students Media Society are - Roshni Khatri, Jyotsna Arora, Ria Nagpal, Charulata Mukherjee, Akansha Goyal from Class XI, Shivangi Arora, Palak Hajela, Kirti Suri, Shantav Jatav from Class X and Siddharth Bose, Ishan Arora, Shubh Dhingra, Manan Jain, Shelly Gupta, Sanjana Choudhary and Suasha Girdhar from Class IX.

Interaction with Simmi Kher, National Coordinator, Face To Faith - (27 December 2012)
On 27 of December 2012, Simmi Kher, National Coordinator, Face to Faith visited St. Mark's School. She interacted with the members of the Face to Faith online community. She told them about the different modules that need to be done as part of Face to Faith activities. The students spoke about their experience during the various Video Conferences that they were part of.

The students also felt the need to be more socially responsible by helping the students of government run schools. For this, the students of St. Mark's School plan to bring in a few students from the government schools for the video conferences that will be held in the future.

Quest 2012 - An Exhibition for Science and Mathematics - (August 2012)

The members of the Students’ Media Society of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh made a news story of Quest 2012-An Exhibition for Science and Mathematics. Ms. Kirti Suri was the anchor of the news story while Ms. Roshni Khatri handled the camera.

The students also did a survey on Relevance of Independence Day. The survey was to see the response of the teenagers of India in comparison to the response of the senior citizens. A video on Independence day celebration was also made. The students also made a video on Janamashtami celebrations in the school. The most notable activity was when the fifteen students visited the tea stall of Mr. Laxman Rao, a man who sells tea for survival but has a penchant for literature.

St. Mark's School, Meera Bagh holds its first Media Club Meet - (2012)
SMS, Meerabagh - Media Society : Clcik to EnlargeOn 20th of July 2012, St. Mark's School, Meera Bagh held the first meet to orient the members of the Media Club. Fifteen students, who are members of the club, have embarked on a new journey which will help them to hone their skills in creative writing, reporting, photography and other facets of media studies. The first tasks assigned to the students are to coin a name for the club and to design a logo for the same. The students will also write their first thoughts on being part of the media club.

The media club is a joint initiative by N.C.E.R.T and SMS.
