- CLASSES I TO V
'Quizzing
is an art learnt through practice.' So we begin young to inculcate this
art. The final round of G.K. Quiz for classes I to V was conducted from
16 to 20 November 2009 respectively. A team comprising of two children
from each section participated enthusiastically. Audience questions
were also asked.

- INTER – HOUSE MATHS QUIZ
“The
mathematical experience of the student is incomplete if he never has
an opportunity to solve a problem by himself."
Keeping this in mind, we organized the Inter-House Maths Quiz for classes
V to XII on 6 November 2009. The Quiz for the Juniors (Class V to VIII)
was organized in the first half and for the Seniors (IX to XII) in the
second half. This was for the first time that Class V students also
participated in the Quiz.
In Juniors - Nehru House bagged the First Prize. The winning team members
were Shikhar Suresh (V D), Shriya Seth (VI F), Alind Singh (VII A) and
Siddarth Singh (VIII D). At the senior level – Gandhi House team
mebers – Aakash Dua (IX D), Gaurav Rathee (X B), Nishtha Chopra
(XI E), Bhavya Chhabra (XII F) walked away with the first prize.

An Inter House Quiz for Classes VI to VIII was held on 3 November 2009,
on the theme 'Events of the last Decade'. It consisted of 7 rounds namely

The members
of Gandhi House bagged the first position, followed by Patel, Shastri
and Nehru House respectively.

FOR CLASSES XI & XII

Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh organized an Inter House
Quiz for classes XI and XII on 25 August 2009 based on - "Entertainment".
It covered various areas such as 'Hollywood', Bollywood', 'Television',
'Music' and 'Media'. The first and second positions were bagged by Nehru
and Shastri House respectively.

- DELHI QUIZ
We
all are Indians and we often celebrate our nationality. This time we
at St. Mark’s School, Meera Bagh, thought of celebrating the fact
that we are the proud residents of this beautiful city with rich cultural
heritage, Delhi.
Keeping the spirit of Delhi in mind the inquizitive club of our school
organized a Delhi – Quiz for Classes VI, VII & VIII on 18
February 2009. All the students participated in this written quiz. The
questions given tested the knowledge of the students in various arenas
like history, heritage sites, DMRC, Phoolwalon ki sair, etc.

A
Quiz was organized at Banyan Tree School, Lodhi Road on 23 April 2009
as part of Indo - Swiss Friendship Cup. Eleven students participated
and St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh was represented by

The Quiz was followed by the screening of a documentary depicting the
sports, culture and landscape of Switzerland.

HOUSE MATHS QUIZ
Bertrand
Russel said, "Mathematics rightly viewed possesses not only truth but
supreme beauty". To prove it right an Inter House Maths Quiz for classes
VI-VIII and IX -XII was held on 12 September 2008. All the students
were quizzed on basic understanding of concepts, Number Theory, History
of Maths etc.
In the Junior level (VI-VIII) Patel House was the winner. The team comprised

DOON HOSTS - WE LEARN
Mani
Makkar (IX) and Kush Jain (X) participated in the Quiz 'Wizard-2008'
hosted by Doon Public School in collaboration with NIE on 06.09.2008.
It was a general quiz wherein the students were tested in various fields
like literature, dance, music, sports, politics etc. through the Smart
Assessment System followed by a multimedia quiz. It was indeed a learning
and enriching experience for all the participants.

QUIZ MANIA FOR LITTLE SPARKS
Mind
boggling quizzes were held for the little ones of classes I, II and
III on 19,20 and 21 November respectively. The seven teams, each group
named after the colour of the rainbow, had to answer questions on varied
topics appropriate with their age. They had mind boggling questions
spaced out in eight rounds.
Class I had rounds like "Mixed Bag', 'Visual Treat', Identify the Comic
Character', 'Identify the Monuments' etc.
Class II- 'Famous Personalities', 'Famous Places', 'Insects', 'Kitchen
Items' etc.
Class III - 'Name the Personalities', 'Musical Instruments', Dances
and their States' etc.

’The
Emats All India G.K. Test’ was conducted for classes IV
to X at St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. This test
gives a right exposure to students' inborn curiosity and power to learn.
St. Mark’s School, Meera Bagh is proud of Lakshay
Arora of Class VC, who could make it to the top three position
at the national level. He was awarded with a book and a certificate.

Quiz competition for class I was conducted at St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public
School, Meera Bagh, on 19.11.2008. There were seven teams, named after
the seven colours of Rainbow. Very nice pictorial visuals were shown.
There were eight rounds like 'Mixed Bag', 'Visual
Treat', 'Identify the Comic Characters', 'Identify the Monuments'
etc. There were special questions for the audience as well. The Vice
Principal, Ms. V Wahi gave away the prizes to the following winners:-
I prize - Blue team - Nitigya Dutt Chaudhary, I E and Vanshika IE
Runners Up - Yellow team - Laqshya Saluja, IC and Ishaan Aggarwal IC.
An Inter Class G.K. Quiz for Class II was conducted at St. Mark's Sr.
Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, on 20.11.2008, to asses their general
awareness. A visual approach was followed with colourful pictures. There
were seven teams comprising of 2 members each. The First prize winners
were Gaurang Alagh and Tanmay Chopra, IIC while the Runners up were
Rahul Pande and Naman Sharma II F.
G.K. Quiz competition for class III was held at St. Mark's Sr. Sec.
Public School, Meera Bagh, on 21.11.2008. There were many interesting
round like 'Name the Personalities’, 'Musical
Instruments’, 'Dance and their States’ etc., which
stimulated the child’s logical thinking and sharpened their reasoning
power. The audience participation was also tremendous. The first prize
was bagged by Manav Prabhakar and Mandeep Singh of class III A. The
first runners up were Hitanshi Narang and Aman Kapoor of III E while
the second runners up team comprised to Maanvi Mudgil and Pranav Sindura
of class III C.
- THE
INQUISITIVE CLUB AT WORK
'Confidence
never comes from having all answers,
It comes from being open to all questions'.
Students
of classes VI to IX had their first Quiz of this academic year on
'Wildlife'
and 'Disasters'.
The quiz was a multimedia presentation conducted simultaneously in all
the sections. It was an Inter House Competition with the respective
class-teachers as the quizmasters. The children had a whale of a time
answering the questions which were carefully compiled by the Club members.
The event was educative as well as fun.

The
CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2008-2009 was held on 24.8.2008 at Delhi Public
School, Rohini. Kshitij Jhamb, Karan Baweja and Jatin Baweja of class
XII of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, participated in
the preliminary round of the Heritage Quiz.

again declared the overall winners of the Procom Quiz Contest for
the year 2007-08. The trophy for the First Prize was bagged by the

QUIZ CONDUCTED
We
do not restrict ourselves only to our country and our culture.
So, our Inquisitive Club took a step further into the world of quizzing.
A Multimedia Quiz on Mythology was conducted for classes VI to VIII
on 29.1.2008. The participants as well as the audience were enthralled
and excited to have to learn more about the Hindu, Greek, Roman and
Chinese mythology.

IN BOOK WORM CLUB
The
Book Worm Club comprising
of the tiny tots met in the Audio-Visual room to try their skill at
Quizzing on books on 7.3.2008. It consisted of various rounds namely
'Identify the Story',
Name the Author',
'Odd One Out'
etc. The students enjoyed all the rounds and participated enthusiastically.
The winners were given books as incentives to inculcate good reading
habits and to develop their love for books which is fast on the decline
among the younger generation. The meeting culminated with best wishes
for all the children in their new session.
