  • 'DEBATING MATTERS' IN INDIA
'Debating matters', a UK based debating competition was conducted for the first time in India. Our school team comprising of Aashima Khosla, Devashree Sharma, Jatin Arora, Siddharth Rajan, Sreejoni Nag and Tarun Gupta were fortunate to be a part of it. We reached the 'semi-regionals' held at the British Council, through an 'online elimination test'. School selected in a similar manner from the North Zone competed in groups of two at this level. From our team Siddarth Rajan and Devashree Sharma debated on the assigned topic - "Man not machines should go to space," while the others supported them in the cross-questioning round. After an interesting debating session, we awaited the results. Each one of us had a tough time fighting our patience as we were the last to debate and out results came at the end too. Our anxiety went up a level, each time a winning team was announced and then came out name! It was a moment of satisfaction, relief, pride and ecstasy for all of us. We only hope to perform better in the upcoming finals at the regional level.
