Trips and Excursions

  • KAMP KALSI
    Kamp Kalsi / Leadership camp was organised at Padampuri from 19th to 23rd May 2010. 63 students and 6 teachers participated in this camp from our school. The camp was located at a beautiful site with backdrop of hills and forest. It included many activities like burma bridge crossing, commmando bridge, net crawl, wriggling, tarzan crossing, rappling, raft building, trekking, bonfire and village interaction.

    Our students whole heartedly participated in each and every activity'. The camp really helped in inculcating leadership qualities in the students.


  • JAIPUR ENTHRALLS STUDENTS
    Students at Amer FortVisiting monuments in Jaipur Class IV  
    Students of classes III & IV along with five teachers went to Jaipur. They visited a number of tourist places. They were enthralled on seeing the majestic Amer Fort and the Albert Museum.

    They were also taken to a factory where various things were made out of hand made paper and sold in the market. The trip was informative, enjoyable and fun filled.


  • STUDENTS IN UDAIPUR
    Students at Udaipur Students of classes VI, VI and VIII went on an educational trip to Udaipur and Chittorgarh. They were taken to Chittorgarh Fort where history came alive with the vivid description of the Fort, its architecture and the events attached to it.

    The next day, the students were shown the Udaipur City or the White City, as it is popularly called. The majesty and grandeur of the City Palace was breathtaking and the view of Lake Palace and Uday Vilas was equally enchanting.

    The evenings were full of fun and entertainment with the local artists performing folk dances and Puppet Shows. Overall, it was an interesting and enlightening trip for the students as well as the accompanying staff members.

  • A VISIT TO SANJAY GANDHI ANIMAL CARE CENTRE
    Some of our students visited the 'Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre' at Tagore Garden, New Delhi on 28 September 2009. The members of 'Companimals Club' were the fortunate few. They were warmly welcomed to the centre. Ms. Ambika Shukla, an excellent guide gave a brief introduction to the teachers and students about the animal centre and asked them to explore the same. She emphasized on certain topics like being a vegetarian, adopting Indian dogs and not foreign breeds, not keeping aquariums at home and other issues related to the environment. They gained knowledge about vaccination of animals, their breeds and saw their hospital, I.C.U and X-Ray Room. They were also told not to cage animals and allow them to live freely. It was an enlightening experience for all of them and it inculcated in them the need to extend a hand of love and care towards all animals.


  • EDUCATIONAL EXCURSION FOR ST. MARK'S STUDENTS
    An educational trip to AMRITSAR was organized for students of Class V of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 28 & 29 August 2009. They were given an extensive guided tour of the Jallianwala Bagh and the Golden Temple. They were told about the religious history of the place and also about the patriotic fervour in the natives of Punjab.

    The students was witnessed the Retreat Ceremony and Parade by BSF Jawans at the Wagah Border. The trip was an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience for the students as well as the escorting teacher.


  • STUDENTS OF SMS, MEERA BAGH ATTEND CAMP - ANUBHAV
    A group of 32 students of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh along with 3 teachers attended camp - Anubhav during the summer vacations at Padampuri near Bhimtal. They were captivated by the scenic beauty of that place. The activities during Shooting, Water Sports (Rafting) and Night Trekking.

    It was an exciting and enriching experience for the students as the activities really boosted their confidence level.


  • STUDENTS VISIT RELIGIOUS PLACES
    The students of classes IV & V of the Exploration Club of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh were taken for various religious places on a visit. First they were taken to St. Gregorious Church where they were shown around by a member of the Church. Later they were taken to a Gurudwara adjacent to the Church where they were shown the Holy book of Sikhs. The last stop was the Sanatan Dharam Mandir. The trip instilled in them respect for all religious and emphasized the fact that India is a secular country where various religious co-exist peacefully.


  • STUDENTS ENJOY ANNUAL PICNIC
    The students of classes I to V were taken on the annual picnic between 27 January 2009 to 29 January 2009. The venue was Fun ‘n’ Food Village. All the students and even tiny tots of class I enjoyed all the possible rides and had a lot of fun. There was a dance competition as well and many students and teachers won prizes for their dancing talents. The students of classes VI to IX and XI were taken to Adventure Island in the month of February and it was indeed an enthralling experience for all of them.


  • STUDENTS VISIT BIODIVERSITY PARK
    The Eco Club members visited Yamuna Biodiversity Park on 27 December 2008. They observed migratory birds from Siberia and South China. They also visited wet lands which sustain a rich aquatic flora and fauna of Yamuna. Students also visited a fruit garden and were able to recognize the fruit trees. It was quite a knowledgeable trip which made children realize the importance of conserving our biodiversity.


  • A TRIP TO RAJASTHAN - OUR CULTURAL HUB
    The school organized an educational trip to Rajasthan for the students of classes VIII & IX in the month of September. The students were given an extensive guided tour of Meherangarh Fort in Jodhpur. They also visited the Umaid Bhawan Palace and the Mandore Gardens which acquainted them with the rich heritage of Rajasthan. Once in Jaisalmer, the students had a life time experience of visiting the Sam Sand Dunes. The vast expanse of rippling sand, the breathtaking view of the sunset, the camel ride and the peppy folk dancers left everyone mesmerized. It was an architectural treat to visit the spectacular and beautiful havelis, the impressive Jaisalmer Fort and the Jain temples with the citadel. The trip was very enjoyable, knowledgeable and enriching experience for one and all.


  • STUDENTS OF ST. MARK'S MEERA BAGH AT MT. ABU.
    A team of students of classes VI and VII of  St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, accompanied by teachers and their Educational Supervisor, visited
    Mt. Abu in August 2008. In Mt. Abu, students visited Dilwara Temples, Sunset Point, Toad Rock and Guru Shikhar. Overall it was an enjoyable and a learning experience both for students and teachers alike.

  • TRIP TO AMRITSAR (CLASS V)
    Students of class V got an opportunity to visit Amritsar  on 7 August 2008. The students has a gala time and enjoyed themselves. The students visited the
    Wagha Border and were delighted to see the retreat programme. They paraded with the tri colour too. Next day the students visited the Durgiana temple, Jallianwala Bagh and the wonderful Golden  Temple. The journey by Shatabadi Express was another wonderful experience. Overall it was a very exciting and learning experience.

  • STUDENTS OF ST. MARK'S MEERA BAGH IN JAIPUR
    Seventy Five students of class IV alongwith five teachers of  St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, visited Jaipur on 1st and 2nd August 2008. This was an opportunity for students to learn about the rich, historic and cultural heritage of Rajasthan. Students were very excited with the ethnic yet luxurious stay at Chowki Dhani. In the evening, the students visited the fair and witnessed various forms of folk art like dances, magic shows, puppet shows etc. They also visited the famous
    Amber Fort and Albert Hall Museum. It was a learning and awesome experience for the young children.  

  • ST. MARK'S STUDENTS ENJOY TRIP
    Students of class III of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, went on an educational trip to Agra on 26.7.2008. The children were taken for this trip to see one of the seven wonders of the world - the Taj Mahal and also to be made familiar with the rich heritage of India.

    The children were first taken to
    Taj Mahal followed by a visit to the Agra Fort. They also visited the Fatehpur Sikri and Buland Darwaza and the Dargah of Salim Chisti. It was indeed a learning experience for the students as they learnt to be independent and self reliant.
       

  • KANGRA ADVENTURE CAMP
    The school organized an adventure training camp during the summer vacations. It was held in Bheer 20 km from Kangra from 2 June to 6 June 2008. 43 children from VI to VIII with 4 teachers attended this camp. They learnt many activities like rope climbing, rappling, river crossing etc. They also visited the Tibet Monastery there. Children enjoyed camp fire. It was beautiful place and children enjoyed with zeal and enthusiasm.
       

  • STUDENTS OF ST. MARK'S MEERA BAGH VISIT RED FORT

    A Trip to Red Fort 51 members of the Heritage Club of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, alongwith their teachers visited Red Fort on 15.5.2008, which is one of the most spectacular piece of Mughal architecture  built by Shah Jahan in 1639 A.D. Students also visited various monuments like Moti Masjid, Naggar Khana, Diwan-i-am and Khas Mahal which forms an integral part of Red Fort.

       
           

  • STUDENTS OF ST. MARK'S MEERA BAGH ENJOY THE MOVIE
    The students of class V of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, watched the movie 'Day After Tomorrow' in Milan Theater on 24.7.2008. The show was sponsored by N.I.E. Students Education. Children found the movie interesting and exciting and thoroughly enjoyed the same.   

  • A TRIP TO UDAIPUR
    every year we organize excursions for the students where they are taken  to interesting places to have an insight into their cultural heritage so that they feel proud to belong to a great country like India. This year students of classes VI and VII were taken to the City of Lakes '
    Udaipur'. The chief attraction of the trip was the visit to the beautiful City Palace. Its beauty and architecture is a marvel. The  students had a nice time visiting the Pratap Smarak, Sahelion ki bari and the famous Chottorgarh Fort. It was indeed a pleasant experience visiting Udaipur.
      

  • fun at the movies
    The students of class VII being the subscribers of Times of India, were the coveted  ones to be a part of the film festival organized by the Times Group. They immensely enjoyed watching their super heroes - 'Harry Potter-4' and  'Superman Returns' on the big screen.
