The Science of today is the technology of tomorrow.’ St. Mark’s School firmly believes in this quote. Ten students of our school participated in the Zonal Science Exhibition held on 6 and 7 September, 2019. 5 students won prizes in various categories.

The winners were :-

Team 1 – Harmeet Singh and Pranav Mittal of Class XI G for Knock Lock (Sub Theme – Industrial Application).

Team 2 – Himanshu Nandal and Shreya Sinha of Class X A for Li Fi (Sub Theme – Future Transport and Communication).

Team 3 – Navya Sharma (VIII F) for Tuned Mass Damper (Sub Theme – Middle Science).

Solo Singing Competition was held for the students of Class II of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 4 September, 2019. The students sang nice melodious numbers and enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing performances. Some of the songs sung were - 'Theme for a dream', 'Sha la la’, 'Brown girl in the ring', etc. The students were appreciated and encouraged by the judges.

The winners were :-

II Prize - Avni Arora (II F) and Manik Bhatnagar (IID),
III Prize - Disha (II A) and
Special Prizes were won by Tia Mahajan (II C), Vedika Agarwal (II A), Pihu (II B), Ashita Batra (II F) and Vivaan Gautam (II G).
Event by Delhi Sanskrit Academy - (21 to 28 August 2019)

Fourteen students from Classes VIII to X of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Zonal-level Sanskrit Oratory Competition organised by Delhi Sanskrit Academy from August 21 to 28, 2019. Hosted by Sarvoday Kanya Vidyalay (Sultanpuri Road, Nangloi Branch), the competition had four categories, in each of which our students participated.

In Shlok Sangeet Pratiyogita (for girls), a group of six students - Revti Arora (VIII-F), Gurnoor Kaur (IX-A), Garima Suri (IX-I), G. Krithika (IX-E), Ishita Sriram (IX-C), and Poulina Banerjee (X-G) — were awarded the Fourth Position and a cash prize of Rs. 1200.

In Shlokochcharan Pratiyogita (for boys), a group of six students - Yash Khanwani and Naitik Aggarwal (VIII-A), Pratyaksh Walia (VIII-F), Vidur Narula (X-A), Harji Singh (X-B), and Kanav Chopra (X-G) - participated. Vishwesh Gupta of Class IX-B participated in the Sanskrit Bhashan Pratiyogita and delivered a speech on the importance of self-discipline; while Gurnoor Kaur of Class IX-A participated in the Ekal Shlok Pratiyogita.

In its endeavour to encourage students to befriend the language, Delhi Sanskrit Academy has rewarded all participants with Rs. 100 each. On the whole, it was a great learning experience for all participants, wherein they could express their creativity and know the language a little better.

Swaraj Das (VII-E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh won the I Prize in Tabla (Solo) Junior Category, in Zonal Instrumental Music Competition held at S. S. Mota Singh School, G. H. K. Nagar on 22 August, 2019.

12 students from Class X and 3 students from Class VII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in different quizzes held in New Era Public School, Mayapuri on 16 and 17 August, 2019. Quizzes were organised by different University students. All the teams from our school played well in Preliminary round but could not enter the final round.
Computer Se Karo Computer se Badho : a National Level Competition - (2019)

Five students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the competition – “Computer Se Karo Computer se Badho”. This competition was initiated by – Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Intel and Mait, powered by – LinkedIn and Toppr. This project was implemented by LXL ideas.

Students from all over India participated in this National Level competition and a selected few won exciting rewards. This competition took place on October 2018. It had various divisions including presentation making, in which our students excelled. This competition enabled us to hone our computer skills and it was very educational and competitive.

The following students won the cash prize:

Mind Wars launched by Zee Entertainment Enterprise Limited is India’s largest knowledge platform for school students from Classes VI to X to access knowledge presented in the form of short quizzes. Two students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh – Krishita Garg (IX-C) and Prakriti Jaiswal (VII-C) were amongst the 5 students to be awarded prize in the Daily Quiz on Mind Wars out of 50,000 + students on the platform.

25 students from various Classes of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public school, Meera Bagh participated in "Access 2019" held at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Delhi. It is biggest computer symposium in Delhi and NCR with 17 events ranging from quizzes to programming. More than 50 schools participated in the event. Aryav Bhola of Class XI-G won the second prize in hardware assembling. Hardik Kohli and Sarang Pushkarna of Class XII-F bagged the 3rd prize in Game Development.

ALLEN CHAMP is an initiative taken by ALLEN Sambandh Division to Honor and Mentor the students who are recognized across the globe for being a WINNER of any Prestigious Examination / Event / Olympiad organized at National / International level which benchmarks the performance of students in various areas like Excellence in Academics, Aptitude, Skills, Exposure and Language Capabilities.

10 best students' profile from throughout the nation are shortlisted from Classes III to X and are then invited for the Final Round of Activity. It was held at Kota, Rajasthan.

Angel Arora (IV-C) was invited and she bagged the Ninth rank. She was awarded with a trophy, a pure 10gm silver medal and a cash prize of Rs. 21,000.
S. S. Mota Singh Annual Debate Competition - (August 2019)

The young debators of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Annual S.S. Mota Singh Debate Competition and our school won the third prize in the same. The topic was ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-THE NEW INVADER. Prerna Rajput of Class XII-A spoke for the motion and Vishruti Priyanshi of Class XII-A spoke against the motion.

10 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in An Inter School Tech Symposium – The Digilogous hosted by Rukmini Devi Public School, Pitam Pura, Delhi. Students did well in the competition and got the good experience in various events like the computer programming, quizzing and treasure hunt. Agamjot Singh (VIII-C) won the Consolation Prize in the Doodling Competition. He was awarded with a Book, Certificate and Trophy

Eight students of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Delhi University Model United Nations 2019 on 10 and 11 August, 2019.

The students debated on a variety of issues which included human trafficking illegal drug trafficking and the ongoing water crisis being faced by India in committees such as UNHRC, UNODC and Open Forum for Environment.

Young student diplomats of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh attended a two-day MUN Conference at New Era Public School Mayapuri, Delhi on 2 and 3 August, 2019. A team of 23 students participated in General Assembly, Security Council, Lok Sabha, BCCI and International Press. The delegates energetically debated on issues as variant as reservations, crisis situation in Yemen, feasibility of taking steps to revive test cricket in India and measures to combat terrorism. As a result of the collective efforts of all the team members the school bagged School Delegation Trophy.

The individual prize winners are as follows:

Ansh Chaddha (VII B) - High Commendation (BCCI). He received a trophy, certificate and cash prize of Rs. 3000.

Vansham Mudgil (XI D) - Best Delegate (Security Council). He received a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of

Pratham Gupta and Vishwesh Kr. Gupta from IX-B of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in HolaEspana 2019: an Inter School Quiz on Spain, held on 26 July, 2019. It was organised by Instituto Cervantes New Delhi in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain. Students learnt about literature, culture, cuisine, famous personalities, land and geography of Spain.

South Asia Math Ninja Challenge, an online Maths competition was held between 29 April 2019 - 10 May 2019, where schools across Asia competed with eachother. Students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in same. Six students of Classes IV and V earned 500+ points and won gold medals.

"You were not born to be forgotten, you were not born to be perfect - you were born to make a difference in life of those around you...".

Keeping this maxim deep in their hearts nine young Muners of our school participated in Holy Child MUN on 26 and 27 April, 2019. Our school delegates expressed their opinions on myriad issues such as terrorist organisations creating havoc in South Asia in UNSC, analysis of NDA government's defence policy in AIPPM, combating substance abuse and drug trade in UNODC, economic empowerment of women in UNCSW and prevention of human rights violation due to human trafficking.

Their views were appreciated and they bagged accolades in their respective committees: Arjun Katyal (XI A) - Best delegate (All India Political Party Meet); Vansham Mudgil (XI D) - Best delegate (Security Council); Sachkeerat Singh (XI D) - High Commendation (United Nations Commission on Status of Women); Janvi Batra (XI G) - High Commendation(United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime) and Sanat Wadhera (XI A) - Special Mention (All India Political Party Meet).

Vansham Mudgil (XI-D) of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Delhi University Model United Nations at Shaheed Sukhdev College, Rohini, Delhi on 11 and 12 April 2019. He participated as the delegate of France in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and discussed the Yemen civil war and suggested steps for resolving the Syrian Conflict. His views were appreciated and he was awarded the best delegate award with a cash prize of Rs. 5000.

Angel Arora of Class IV-C of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Examination held by International Society for Olympiad (ISFO). There were two levels. She bagged International Rank 1 in English and Maths, International Rank 2 in Science and International Rank 5 in G.K.

Public School, Meera Bagh – Gaurang Alagh (XII A), Mihir Arora (XII B), Saatvik Bhatnagar (XII E), Gautam Gupta (X A) and Anagh Aditya (IX A) participated in the National Level Championship (Ethical Hacking & Cyber Security), organized by Make Intern at the IIT Delhi on 19 and 20 January, 2019. They participated in a set of events which included a written exam followed by a Rapid Fire GK Round, in which our students excelled. The presentation was given a special mention by the judges.

St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Inter School Competition hosted by Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Ashok Vihar “EDGE”. Students participated in multi disciplinary competition hosted by them. Mannat Sachdeva (V C) and Ananya Kapoor (V A) won the second prize in newspaper designing. Shaurya Gupta (XI H) and Raghav Talwar (XI F) won the third prize in movie making. The student made the Movie on Cyber Safety for the Teenagers. The Winners were awarded with Merit Certificate and the Book.

'Eloquence' was organised by K. R.Mangalam, Greater Kailash, Delhi. Under the event category - TRAMEDY our student Mannat Sachdeva of Class V C won the First Prize. She portrayed the character of Lady Macbeth. She presented a tragic scene from the classic 'Macbeth' in such a comic way that judges loved her performance.

The Silverzone Olympiads are a series of competitive exams held annually wherein the outstanding performers are recognised and felicitated.Silverzone Olympiads Award Ceremony for Classes I to V was held on 9 March, 2019. The awards for various categories were given to the meritorious students. The students were felicitated by Principal Ms. A. Aggarwal, Vice Principals Ms. R. Anand and Ms. A. Gupta. It was a proud moment for all.

Angel Arora (III C) brought laurels when she was declared the Olympiad Top Rank Holder for Social Studies. She won a trophy and a cheque worth Rs. 10,000. Further, she even won a wristwatch for being the 15th Olympiad Rank Holder in the Reasoning and Aptitude Category.

22 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the ‘National Talent Olympiad’ held at Apeejay Public School, Sheikh Sarai, Delhi on 20 February, 2019. Our students participated in different categories like racing, on the spot painting, canvas painting, calligraphy, elocution, poem recitation, essay writing and dance competition. Citation of Honour was given to every student along the medals.

Exemplary Prizes were won by Shivam (V-F) Singing; Kunal (VI-C) Poem Recitation; Rajat Mittal (VII-B) Elocution; Amitoj Kaur (VIII-F) Canvas Painting.

Budding Artist Inter branch Painting Competition was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 2 February, 2019. 225 students of Classes III to IX and XI participated and showed their talent in various mediums like Oil Pastels, Water Colours, Charcoal and Acrylic Colours. The judges for the event were Ms. Indira Poddar, Ms. Garima Phutela, Ms. Charulata and Ms. Ritika Kohli.

The students of our school who won prizes were :-

If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must aspire to be different....

Seven students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in JMC Model United Nations - 2019 in UNHRC, CSTD, UNCSW and Niti Aayog. The delegation presented their perspectives for a changing world and debated on grave issues such as rights of women and children in conflict zones, acquisition of big data and it's repercussions on common people, role of women in power as change alerts in society. The public speaking skills of the young delegates were appreciated by their Executive Boards.

Filmit is a multi-cultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films. Teacher Incharge Ms. S. Bhatnagar along with 4 students had attended the award ceremony of FilmIt India 2018-19 conducted by INTACH on 8 February, 2019. The members of the winning team that represented our school were Pratham Gupta (VIII F), Yash Gupta (VIII A), Taranjeet Singh (VII B), Prakriti Jaiswal (VI C), Ritika (VI C) and Laxmi Pujitha (VI C).

They won three awards in the following category:

1. Best Documentary Film– Nilgiri Oil (Pratham Gupta).
2. Best Original Film – Delhi Street Food (Yash Gupta).
3. Special Award for Maximum Number of Films Made by Students

Yashika Arora (IX-G) and Pawan Gupta (IX-E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public SCHOOL, Meera Bagh wrote on the Saga of Snakes and were rewarded for their brilliant write up by Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH). They sensitized people with their writings about the importance of snakes in the eco system and the need to protect them to keep the ecological balance intact. They were awarded a certificate and a book each by our Principal, Ms. A. Aggarwal.

Maharaja Agrasen University organised an Interschool and Intercollege Table Tennis Tournament on 22 and 23 January, 2019 at Sector – 22, Rohini, Delhi. Prabhneet Singh (VIII H) won a Silver Medal alongwith Rs. 2,100/- and the Boys team comprising of Prabhneet Singh (VIII H), Rishabh Singh (IX H) and Ritvik (IX C) won a Bronze medal alongwith Rs. 2,100/-.

A drone competition ‘War of Wings’ was held on 24 January, 2019 at SGT University Gurgaon, Gurugramconsisted of 3 events - 100 m race, hurdle race and eye the sky.

Manmeet Singh Tuteja (XI E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh designed and built a drone which he innovated by adding sensors to measure the content of air that causes pollution. He bagged the 3rd prize which included a cash prize and certificate of Merit.

Eight students of Class XI of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in Shri Ram College of Commerce Model United Nations in General Assembly, United Nations Development Programme, UNHRC and intensively debated in the two day session on 12 and 13 January, 2019.

Sanah Malik (XI A) won the Honourable Mention in United Nations Human Rights Council where she represented People's Republic of China and debated on strengthening the rule of law and accountability of human rights violations. Ishika Chauhan (XI E) won the Honourable Mention in United Nations General Assembly where she represented Russian Federation and debated on legal autonomous weapons and Manpreet Kaur (XI E) won the Special Mention in United Nations Development Programme where she represented Saudi Arabia and debated on the global front to combat climate change.

Maths Quiz - (2019)
Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or algorithms : it is about understanding.

In order to enhance the understanding of Maths, a quiz was conducted in all the sections of grade IX. The quiz consisted of all sorts of questions like aptitude questions, tricky word problems etc. which involved rational and logical thinking. The participating students and the teachers enjoyed the Maths hour.

Students of Classes IV to IX of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the School Super League Competition (Round One) organised by Times NIE. Round one was for open to all the students. The following students topped their class and have now qualified for the next round of the competition-

"Learning and innovation go hand in hand".

Young innovators with an experimental mindset brought to the school by winning positions in Zonal Level Science Exhibition. The winners were Hardik Garg (IX-E), Shreyas Dubey (IX-D), Meher Singh (X-G), Kushagra Batra (X-G), Sneha Sharma (XI-D), Vashita (XI-C), Chaitanya Arora (XI-E) and Manmeet Singh (XI-E). The winners will compete with best of the students from all over Delhi in the next round of Science Exhibition.
