An Inter Class English Play Competition for Classes X and XI of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh was held on 16 November, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. Various plays from different genres – comedy, classics and contemporary literature were presented with a lot of elan and enthusiasm. The students of Class X presented ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ by Oscar Wilde, ‘The Summoning of Everyman’ and ‘To Date or not to Date’ by Jason Pizzarello, while the students of Class XI presented ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan’, ‘The Rehersal’ and ‘Nobody’s Famous’ by D. H. Lawrence. The event was judged by Principal, Ms. A. Aggarwal and Ms. Devika Rangachari, a celebrated author and winner of 19 National Awards for children’s books and stories and associated with Scholastic India.

The Best Play Award was bagged by ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ (Class X) and ‘Lady Windermere’s Fan’ (Class XI).

With a vision to educate and empower students to stay ahead with new cutting edge knowledge, TIMES NIE ‘National Aptitude Challenge’ 2016-2017 was organized by The Times of India Group on 28 October, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. The students of Class VI to X participated in this quiz.

St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh organized a computer extravaganza, which continued for a month with online events and culminated on 27 October 2016. The event was a success with an overwhelming response from sixty schools in and around Delhi and participation at the international level too. Schools from Bangladesh, Hungary and Malaysia also participated. Eight hundred participants were registered in different categories with three hundred qualifying for the finals. A total of 10 events were conducted like Gamers’ Paradise (Game Designing), Markians’ Gaming League, Web Coders (Web Designing), Lights-Camera-Action (Movie Making), Binary Masters (Programming), Design.apk (Android App Designing), Snapshot (Photoediting), Creative Catchers (Brochure Designing), Junior Techies (Powerpoint Presentation) and Imagica (Innovation).
Our school secured a total of 26 points (highest), however, as per rules, the host school cannot claim the rolling trophy. Hence, it was awarded to the next 2 highest scoring schools i.e., ManavRachna International School, Sec - 51, Gurgaon and N.K. Bagrodia School, Dwarka, both secured 12 points each. Geek <a/> Hertz was sponsored by Net2School, Educomp Smart Class and Edunext.

St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh proudly hosted the International Robotronics Competition School League Zonal qualifier on 25 October, 2016. Almost 340 students from 25 schools of Delhi and NCR participated at different levels. The event was judged by Mr. Tarun Bhalla, CEO of Avishkaar Box. Bharat Kawatra, Maanvi Mudgil, Urvi Goel and Sapan Gupta of Class XI E of our school were the II Runners Up in the Senior Level and have qualified for the Nationals.
Skating Competition - (21 to 23 October 2016)

A Skating Competition was held in Adarsh Public School, Vikas Puri from 21 to 23 October, 2016 in which students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated.

Tiya Gupta (III G) won a Bronze medal in Speed Skating (Adjustable) 300 m.

The Skating Hockey team of Sub Junior Boys (8 -12 years age group) won the Silver medal and the team comprised of Lakshay Malik (V E), Gursahej Singh (V C), Yash Lakra (V E), Hunur Birnda (V E), Yash Gupta (VI F), Dhruv Datta (VI A), Rajat Mittal (V C), Manan Aggarwal (V D) and Jagjeet Singh (VII G).

The Skating Hockey team of Junior Boys (12 - 14 years age group) won the Bronze medal and the team comprised of Hrayank Dua (VIII H), Rishabh Gupta (VIII H), Taranveer Singh (IX E), Manmeet Singh (VIII D), Nimit Goel (VIII E), Harmeet Singh (VIII E), Ayush Khurana (VII H) and Raj Gupta (VIII F).

CBSE conducted Avishkar Quiz for the students of Class I - XII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 13 October, 2016. The quiz majorly focused on the theme ‘Sound and Music’alongwith questions related to General Science, Mathematics and Technology. The quiz took place for three categories – Primary (I – V), Upper Primary (VI – VIII) and Secondary (IX – XII).

Public School, Meera Bagh on 13 October, 2016 as a part of celebrating the National Postal Week.

Many students participated in the competition and penned down their suggestions and opinions on the topic ‘India’s strength lies in simplicity of Indians and their unity.’

2 senior officials from the Postal department supervised the event. The best entries would be forwarded to the Prime Minister and attractive cash prizes would be awarded to the deserving students.

An Inter Class English Recitation Competition was held in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 29 September, 2016 for Classes II and III. The theme for Class II was ‘Childhood’ and for Class III was ‘Friendship’. The students recited the poems beautifully with proper voice modulation and expressions.

The winners were :-

II Prize – Janhvee Thapliyal (II B).
III Prize – Kriday Sharma (II B) and
Special Prizes were won by Aadya Kapoor (II D), Pratyush Goyal (II C), Reet Anand (II E) and Divit Bajpai (II A).

St. Mark’s School, Meera Bagh - Seven Seas - Merck Olympiad : Click to EnlargeSeven Seas Academy (Merck) conducted an Olympiad in classes V, VI and VII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh on 28 September 2016. The test comprised of questions based on logical reasoning and IQ tests. A preliminary round was held at school level. A certificate of participation was given to everyone.

Jahnavi Kalra (V B) and Yash Garg (V E) were selected for the City Level Round. They were awarded special certificates for their achievement.

Public School, Meera Bagh won III Prize in the INTACH India Heritage Quiz 2016 on 29 August, 2016. The quiz was organized by Xpress Minds Edutainment for INTACH to test students across India on their knowledge of Indian Culture and Heritage.

Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is India’s largest non – profit organization dedicated to conservation and preservation of India’s natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.

13 students of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in the Design Championship 2016 hosted by MindBox held at Modern School Barakhamba Road, Delhi on 27 August, 2016. Students participated in 4 different competitions wherein they had to submit the project online first on the basis of the given themes. They cleared Level 1 of all 4 competitions i.e. Industrial Design, I-Book Design, Movie Making and Graphics Design. Our team comprising of Sameep Arora (XI D), Tanima Bhatia (XI E) and Ronak Goel (VIII A) won the first prize in 'Graphic Design Competition (Delhi and NCR chapter).
Digilogous : Bleed Technology - (6 August 2016)

A 19 member team of the Geek Bit Club of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh along with the teacher incharges participated in the consecutive year of 'Digilogous - Bleed Technology' held at Rukmini Devi Public School, Pitampura on 6 August 2016. They participated in competitions like Symphonic, Townhall, Aashcharya, Clash of Titans, etc. Our gaming team reached the semi finals and Mansi Marwah (IX-E) and Sanya Batra (IX-D) secured the second position in debate. They won a cash prize of Rs. 2000.
The India of your Dreams Contest - (August 2016)
The India of your Dreams Contest was organized for classes III to V of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh by Pidilite on the occasion of 70th Independence Day. The children had a fun filled day with many children winning prizes.

Public School, Meera Bagh participated in an array of literary activities during a two – day Literary Festival – LUMINARIUM 2016, organized by D.P.S. Dwarka on 28 and 29 July, 2016.

This literature festival was a combination of off – line and online events and our students participated in both Junior and Senior categories. Sanya Batra (XI D) and Tanya Batra (XI C) won the First Prize in ‘The Sonnet Challenge’ and a team of 15 students received the Third Prize in ‘Shakespeare Well – Versed’. The team included Jatin Prakash (IX B), Parth Sharma (X C), Kartik Luthra (X C), Gaurang Alagh (X G), Mehul Chawla (X G), Nikita Talwar (X C), Tushar Mohan (X B), Shambhavi Gautam (XII C), Ritvick Pant (XII E), Manya Pahwa (XII E), Jagriti Wadhwa (XII D), Mihir Bhasin (XI F), Varun Bakshi (XII C), Shivam Khurana (XII E) and Dhruv Goyal (XII F). Participation in these innovative and creative activities enabled the students to learn and explore more.

On 28 July, 2016 an On the Spot Painting Competition on Disaster Management was organized by District Disaster Management Authority (West) in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh. 41 students of our school participated in it. The winners were : I Prize - Ikshvaku Rastogi (VIII A) ; II Prize – Nikhil (VII C) and
III Prize – Mandeep Kaur (VII C).

The Rashtriya Aavishkar Abhiyan motivates and engage children of the age group from 6 – 18 years in Science, Mathematics and Technology through observation, experimentation, drawing, model building etc. CBSE in its endeavour to support this movement, proposes a series of quiz competition to promote creativity and innovative spirit among school children. A quiz on atmosphere was conducted on 14 July, 2016 in St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh.
JSTS Result (2014-15)

First Korea : India Friendship Quiz Competition 2016 - (10 May 2016)

It was held at NCUI Auditorium and Convention Centre on 10 May, 2016. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Hyun CHO graced the occasion.

Paurav Gulati (XII E) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh contested against 20 other schools in the final round and could qualify for the Super finals. It was a proud moment for our school to have Paurav Gulati declared as one among the best four to win a free trip to South Korea.
2nd K.G. Khosla Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament - (23 April to 2 May 2016)

Khosla Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament for U – 12 category boys held from 23 April to 2 May 2016. Our school team won the first match against Vasant Valley School, Vasant Vihar by 10 runs. Brahmjot Singh (VI G) made 71 runs and Abhinav M. Warrior (VII D) took 3 wickets for 18 runs and were awarded with a trophy and certificate for Man of the Match and Best Bowler, respectively.

Public School, Meera Bagh participated in ‘Edge 2016’ competition organized by Kulachi Hansraj Model School, Ashok Vihar which comprised of many activities like Android App Development, Fancy dress, Robotics KBL, Gaming, Shape Art, etc.

Manmeet Singh Tuteja and Chaitanya Arora of Class IX D won I prize for ‘Android App Development’ creating a wonderful app ‘Child Secure’ whereas Bhumi Sinha and Khushi Mishra of Class VI A won the II Prize in the ‘Shape Art’.

Students of the middle section of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public participated in the Silver Zone Foundation – The Biggest International Olympiads across the continents. Students from our school brought laurels and accolades by winning medals in the various subjects competing with their counterparts within all sections from their respective classes.

The prize distribution ceremony was held on 27 April, 2016 and prizes were given to the following students by Principal Ms. Anjaii Aggarwal and Vice Principal Ms. Veena Wahi.

Our team defeated Yuvashakti School, Rohini and D.A.V. School, Pushpanjali Enclave to reach upto the quarter final. Our boys played well in the tournament.

Prateek Yadav (VIII B) and Anirudh Chilwar (IX E) secured the I Position in Under – 12 and Under – 14 years category, respectively. They both also secured I position in Under – 14 Doubles Category.


Dheer Chandra (III C) also secured I Position in Under – 8 years category.

First Tech Challenge - (9 and 10 April 2016)

Public School, Meera Bagh participated in a robotics competition i.e. First Tech Challenge (FTC) organized by India Stem Foundation on 9 and 10 April, 2016.

20 teams from different states of India participated. Every team had 5 league matches and our school was ranked 1 for winning 5 league matches. They qualified for semi-finals as well. It was a wonderful experience for the students.
Robotics Competition - (1 April 2016)
On 1st April, 2016, 8 students from classes VI to X of St. Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh participated in “INNERVE” technical fest in Indira Gandhi Technical University for women. Students participated in group of 2 teams. Students made 2 type of robots; one for robo war and other robot was programmed to track a path. It was a wonderful experience for the students. Students had a tough fight against students of Engineering colleges. Students were awarded with participation certificates.

33 students of Classes I to VIII of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh went for Ice Skating at the Ambience Mall, Gurgaon on 21 March, 2016. It was a memorable moment for the students and they enjoyed it thoroughly.
Thomas Cook Travel Quest - (4 February 2016)

In a toughly contested Prelim round in which more than 90 schools of Delhi and NCR participated, two students Shubho Roy and Priyanshu Ahuja of IX B were shortlisted as one of the 6 finalist team for the City Finale Round which included rounds on heritage sites, geography and current affairs.



Humming Bird International Level Olympiad - (January 2016)

184 students from classes VI to X participated in it and Minal Jain (X C) won the First National Rank in HBTSE Olympiad and received a tablet and gold medal; Sakshi Goel (X C) won the 49th National Rank and won a wrist watch and silver medal. In HCO Olympiad Manav Prabhakar (XI F) won 6 th National Rank and received a wrist watch and gold medal, Mandeep Singh (XI F) and Arpit Mukheja (XI E) won 15th National Rank and received wrist watches and silver medals. Apart from the above our school received 21 medals in different categories.
NIE - Think and Learn Quiz - (31 January 2016)

Times NIE ‘Think and Learn Challenge’ is a 3 level Aptitude Test Competition conducted in over 400 schools of Delhi - NCR. In this competition Parth Sharma (IX C) of St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh won a Samsung Galaxy tablet.
Dr. Vimlesh Memorial Invitational State Roller Skating Championship - (31 January 2016)

It was organized by Rajasthan Amateur Roller Skating Assoaciation, Bikaner. The students who won prizes in 300 m were Gold medal - Yashika Yadav (VII F), Silver Medal - Abhishek Nair (V H) and Bronze Medal - Nehal Gupta (VI B) and Tamanna Mohan (VI C).
All India Invitation Roller Skating Championship - (26 to 28 January 2016)

The Skating Hockey team of Sub – Junior Boys won the Gold medal and comprised of Haryank (VII I),
Divyam (VIII C), Arshpreet Singh (VII A), Taranveer Singh (VIII C), Inderjeet Singh (VIII E), Dhruv Bansal (VII A), Manmeet Singh (VII F), Anmol Choudhary (VIII A), Manmeet Singh (VI H) and Nimit Goel (VII A).

The Skating Hockey team of U – 10 Boys won the Bronze Medal and the team comprised of Lakshay
Malik (IV D), Teghpreet Singh (IV D), Yash Lakra (IV D), Yash Gupta (V C). Mannan Aggarwal (IV A), Gursahej Singh (IV E), Garv Pahwa (IV B), Prabhgun Singh (IV E), Rao Vishwditya (IV B), Sahej Dhingra (V E) and Sarthak Sehgal (V E).

The Skating Hockey team of Sub – Junior Girls won a Silver medal and comprised of Tamanna Mohan (VI C), Nehal Gupta (VI B), Yashika Yadav (VII F), Ekantik Sharma (V D), Vaibhavi Mendiratta (V G), Vanshita Bhandari (V D) and Bhumi Arora (V D).
