The school is run by St. Mark’s Christian Educational Society. This Society runs St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh & St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, Janakpuri too. The founder Chairman of the school Mr. T. P. Aggarwal has been working in the field of education since 1975. He has been awarded the Dr. Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teachers Award.

Science Quest (11 to 14 August 2010)
Science Quest 2010 : Click to EnlargeScience Quest 2010 : Click to EnlargeSt. Mark’s Girls Sr. Sec. School organized its Annual Science Quest from 11 August to 14 August 2010. A number of inter class and inter – house activities like group enactment, making a compost pit as well as science magazine were held. Science Quiz based on environment and its problems was truly educative. Shastri House was declared the winner of the quiz. Sciencetoon competition for class VIII was an eye opener as the students tried to present the advantages and disadvantages of science and technology in a humorous way.

Students of class IX made their own science magazines by collecting information about new inventions and discoveries.
Science Quest 2010 : Click to EnlargeThe middle school students expressed their concern about environment through short skits based on global warming, waster management, pollution etc. To encourage the use of green manure etc.

The children made compost pits in the school ground. On the last day of the Quest, students displayed their skills through the models on different topics. These four days of Science Quest were in true sense a tool to improve the scientific knowledge of the children. This event certainly helped the students to cultivate a scientific temperament.

Various activities were organized for all the classes. The students of class VI made Fraction Flags, Sculptures by paper folding and Brain Teasers. Class VII made Number Collage, Family Bar Graph and Fraction Flags whereas class VIII made Tessellations, Maths Dictionary, One Meter Designs and Spiral Numbers. Mathematical Newsletter Making Competition for class IX was held in which IX B got the first prize and second and the third positions were bagged by class IX D.

The fervor with which the students worked, and the creativity displayed by them was overwhelming. These activities brought out the innate talent and realization that each one of us has an Aryabhatta, a Pythagoras, a Descartes hidden in us.
